WineMaker Magazine’s International Amateur Wine Competition is the largest amateur winemaking competition in North America. Wine kits compete side-by-side in a blind judging across all categories with wines made from grapes and/or juices.

At the 2007 competition, wines made with Winexpert’s premium quality brands were awarded with 227 medals. This builds on the success enjoyed in 2006 when wines made with Selection, Vintners Reserve and Island Mist wine kits won 183 medals. In 2005, they were awarded 170 medals.

Wines made from Winexpert wine kits have won a total of 764 medals in the five annual WineMaker competitions that have been held so far.

Highlights
Estate Series: All Estate varieties offered in 2006 received a medal. A total of 56 medals were won (11 Gold, 16 Silver, 29 Bronze)

Limited Edition: Varieties from 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 received a total of 58 awards (17 Gold, 20 Silver, 21 Bronze)

Selection/International: Received a total of 51 awards (12 Gold, 18 Silver, 21 Bronze)

Vintners Reserve: Received a total of 8 medals (4 Silver, 4 Bronze)

World Vineyard: 12 varieties received a total of 17 medals (5 Gold, 4 Silver, 8 Bronze)

Speciale: Received a total of 19 medals (1 Best of Show, 6 Gold, 4 Silver, 8 Bronze)
